Dr. John Stinson

Dr. Stinson received his BS in Business Administration from Appalachian State University in 1984.  He attended N.C. State College of Veterinary Medicine, receiving his doctoral degree in 1994.  Dr. Stinson has been employed at the Animal Hospital of Wilkes since 1994. He enjoys playing golf & riding motorcycles when not at the hospital.


Dr. Chad Aderhold

Dr. Aderhold is a 1990 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.  Though a native of Georgia, since graduating he has practiced veterinary medicine in North Carolina. Dr. Aderhold's passion in veterinary medicine is orthopedic surgeries. When out of the office, he likes to ride horses. 


Dr. Steve Jackson

Congratulations to Dr. Jackson on his retirement on July 30, 2016!

Dr. Jackson attended veterinary school at Oklahoma State University.  He graduated in 1971, and has been employed at the Animal Hospital since 1972.  Dr. Jackson's interest include helping our community and its citizens through being a board member of both the Humane Society of Wilkes and the Wilkes Public Health Dental Clinic. 

As of 2014, Dr. Jackson has been married 42 years and have two adult daughters and one grand daughter.  They have one cat named Frowley who "rules the roost" (at least he thinks so!).  Dr. Jackson is an active participant at church.  He enjoys spending time with family, hiking most every week with the "Old Farts Hiking Club", and researching postal history of Wilkes County.  His areas of interest in veterinary medicine include pet wellness  and caring for sick and injured animals.

Dr Jackson has Parkinson's Disease, which was officially diagnosed in 2006 and had Deep Brain Stimulation Implant Surgery in 2010. So far his Parkinson's remains manageable.

Dr. Walter Stinson

Original Owner of the Animal Hospital of Wilkes.  Retired in 2015.

Dr. Walter Stinson opened the Animal Hospital of Wilkes, PA. in 1958.  He attended undergraduate school at N.C. State University in Raleigh, N.C.  Dr. Stinson pursued his veterinary degree from the University of Georgia, where he graduated in 1958.  Dr. Stinson enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, fishing, camping and biking.


Dr. Lynn Allred

Dr. Allred attended Auburn University, where he graduated in 1984.  He has been employed at the Animal Hospital of Wilkes since his graduation. 


Dr.Kiri de la Cerda

Dr.de la Cerda was born and raised in England prior to moving to Florida to pursue her dream of veterinary medicine in 2002. A Gator grad, Dr. de la Cerda spent the last 8 years at the University of Florida in Gainesville, before moving to Western North Carolina -her dream home. Dr. de la Cerda and her husband  live with their energetic Pointer's "Tallulah" & "Willow" as well as 3 cats "Nia", "Miles", and "Grace." The de la Cerda's enjoy outdoor activities and cannot wait to continue exploring the mountains

Dr. Brandi Bumgarner

Dr. Bumgarner came back to work for our practice in 2014.  She is now a full time Veterinary Associate.  She graduated from N C State College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Colleen Crozier-

Dr. Crozier is a graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She attended NC State for her undergraduate degree in both Zoology and Poultry Science. Dr. Crozier has participated in multiple mission trips with Christian Veterinary Mission to the Cherokee and Navajo reservations and the Yup'ik tribes in Alaska. Along with seeing dogs and cats, Dr. Crozier enjoys working with backyard poultry (chickens, ducks, etc). In her spare time, she loves spending time with her standard poodle (Ollivander), reading, baking, and spending time outdoors.

Get Your Flu Shot!

Recently, two dogs passed away from confirmed cases of canine influenza in North Carolina. We are now offering the Canine Flu Vaccine- Bivalent. Bivalent covers both strands of the flu virus. The initial vaccine can be given to dogs over 7 weeks of age, and does require a booster in 2-4 weeks to be effective. Come see us today to get your pet vaccinated!

Monday-Friday   8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

     (please arrive by 12:30 p.m. to be seen before lunch)

(we recommend arriving early, we occasionally have to stop checking in patients as early as 11-11:30 am if we have multiple sick/injured pets to be treated)
